Damian Ewens

Retreat Facilitator

Damian Ewens is a Stanford-trained educator, strategist, and ocean adventurer with over 25 years of experience helping leaders and organizations navigate change. As a coach and facilitator, he has led retreats for Fortune 500 organizations and global brands including Tiffany & Co., Fendi, the Obama White House, and the MacArthur Foundation, and has dedicated much of his teaching career to supporting communities facing barriers to opportunity.
The founder of Ocean State of Mind, Damian integrates mindfulness, breathwork, and nature-based practices to help teams reconnect to purpose, clarity, and creativity. A certified meditation teacher and former startup entrepreneur, his approach blends executive insight with deep presence—and plenty of fun. His award-winning short documentary Tuckerman’s Rock—a modern rite of passage inspired by ocean immersion—has been featured at film festivals around the world.
When not facilitating, Damian can be found freediving or surfing the Rhode Island coast, exploring how the ocean restores focus, courage, and connection.

Betsy Stubblefield Loucks designs and leads retreats that integrate strategy, mindfulness, and the natural world. With over two decades of experience guiding organizations through visioning and change, she brings a thoughtful balance of structure and spaciousness to every gathering. Her clients include BASF, the CDC, Brown University, and various public agencies.
She holds an MS from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, an MBA from Concordia University, and a BA from Brown University. Trained in Appreciative Inquiry, Strategic Doing, and the Interaction Method, she blends analytical clarity with deep human connection. Based at Brown University, Betsy facilitates cross-disciplinary teams addressing global challenges such as climate change, sustainable energy, and health innovation.
Grounded in Providence, she finds inspiration outdoors—trail running, cycling, and ocean swimming—and brings that same sense of vitality and purpose to her retreats.
