Amelia Island is easy to reach and feels far from the office. It has 13 miles of quiet Atlantic beach, two large oceanfront resorts with strong meeting space and a walkable historic downtown, all about 30 minutes from Jacksonville International.
It depends on your group and goals. Omni Amelia Island Resort has 401 rooms plus villas on 1,350 acres and 80,000 square feet of meeting space, best for large groups who want golf, tennis and nature trails on site. The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island has 446 rooms on the beach and a polished, full-service feel. The Addison on Amelia is a small historic inn in downtown Fernandina Beach, ideal for a leadership team of up to about 18 that wants the whole place to itself. We’ll recommend the best fit for your group size, goals and budget.
March through May and October through early December are the most comfortable, with warm days and fewer crowds. Summer is hot and humid with afternoon storms, and winter is mild and quiet.
Fly into Jacksonville International (JAX). The Addison is about 30 minutes away, The Ritz-Carlton about 35 minutes and the Omni about 45 minutes. Private flights can land at Fernandina Beach Municipal (FHB), about 10 minutes from all three. We handle all ground transfers.
Yes. Downtown is 10 to 20 minutes from both resorts, so teams can stay on the beach and walk the historic district for dinner, or base at The Addison and spend a day at the ocean.
Beyond the featured experiences, teams can kayak the salt marshes, tour Fort Clinch, take a sunset boat cruise to Cumberland Island, play championship golf or book a private chef’s table dinner.
Yes. The Omni and The Ritz-Carlton can each host several hundred people, and the Omni’s largest ballroom is nearly 17,000 square feet.
Yes. We use oceanfront lawns, terraces and courtyards for sessions and receptions, with an indoor room held as a backup.
Yes. The estuary hike, the cooking class and fishing need no experience, and horseback rides are guided for first-time riders. There is always an easier option.
Bring light, breathable clothes, sunscreen, a hat and sandals, plus a light layer for breezy evenings. Add a rain jacket in summer.
