Why choose Italy for a corporate retreat?
Italy turns a retreat into something your team will talk about for years. Groups can meet in a restored medieval village, spend the afternoon on the vineyard roads of the Val d’Orcia and sit down to a dinner built from what the farms nearby produced that morning. Venues range from a private Tuscan hamlet for 30 to a seaside village in Puglia for 100 or more, and a forest hotel high in the Dolomites. Nonstop flights reach Rome and Milan from major U.S. cities, and May, June, September and October bring the most comfortable weather.

In their words
Why teams keep booking with Wilder

As a remote team, it's important for us to create an intentional space for us to come together and connect as more than co-workers. We believe there's no better way to do that than in nature and Wilder Retreats helped us do just that.
Chris ClarkCEO
We've worked with Wilder Retreats on over three retreats now and it's been the best experience ever. They have great locations in their pocket, work closely with you on budget and details, and are always a step ahead with planning. I don't know how we'd execute on our team offsites without them!
Britt CooperVP of Talent
Our time with Wilder Retreats in Yosemite was nothing short of magical. We explored, we laughed, and we grew together. It was a humbling reminder of the beauty and power of nature, and of the importance of fostering connections with those around us.
Lily BakourHead of Communications
Wilder Retreats ran our firmwide offsite this year. It was clear we had a true partner in Wilder. From the earliest planning chats through the final goodbye for the airport, our Wilder Retreats team was responsive, organized, and upbeat, so much so that our own staff who worked with them to plan could simply enjoy the retreat instead of juggling logistics. The result was a relaxed, engaging few days where people could focus on connecting with colleagues and re‑energizing for the year ahead. We came away feeling both cared for and confident that we’d choose Wilder Retreats again without hesitation!
Emma DysonChief of Staff
Wilder Retreats presented, organized and executed a company retreat in Big Sky for us. The details were communicated in a timely manner both prior to the event and during. Our group had an amazing time! I would highly recommend Wilder Retreats.

Frequently asked questions
Italy slows teams down in the best way. Long lunches, walkable hill towns and landscapes that have not changed in centuries give people room to talk, think and reconnect, while the food and wine give every day a natural rhythm.
It depends on your group. Monteverdi Tuscany is a restored medieval village in the Val d’Orcia with 29 rooms and 3 villas, ideal for a leadership team of about 30 that wants the whole hamlet to itself. Borgo Egnazia in Puglia has 184 rooms and 11 meeting rooms, the right fit for groups of 100 or more. FORESTIS sits at 1,800 meters in the Dolomites with 69 rooms, a strong match for wellness and outdoor-focused teams.
May, June, September and October bring warm days, cooler evenings and fewer crowds. July and August are hot and busy in Tuscany and Puglia, while the Dolomites stay comfortable all summer and turn into a ski destination in winter. Harvest season in the fall is a highlight for food and wine groups.
Most groups fly nonstop into Rome (FCO) or Milan (MXP) from major U.S. cities. Monteverdi is about two hours by road from Rome or Florence, Borgo Egnazia is under an hour from Bari, and FORESTIS is about an hour from Bolzano or two from Innsbruck. We arrange private transfers for the whole group.
Yes. Borgo Egnazia has 184 rooms and roughly 40,000 square feet of meeting space across 11 rooms. For smaller leadership groups, Monteverdi can be reserved for your team alone, giving you an entire medieval village as your venue.
The Via Francigena is a thousand-year-old pilgrimage and trade route running from Canterbury to Rome. Part of it crosses the Val d’Orcia near Monteverdi, and teams can explore it by vintage car, Vespa, e-bike or on foot.
Beyond the featured experiences, teams can hunt for truffles with a local forager and his dogs, take a pasta or cheesemaking class, tour Brunello di Montalcino and Nobile di Montepulciano cellars, or join a cocktail masterclass. In the Dolomites and Puglia, we can add via ferrata climbs, sailing and olive oil tastings.
Food is the heart of an Italian retreat. We can plan a Val d’Orcia to table day with local producers, a cooking class at Monteverdi’s Culinary Academy, an Etruscan recipe dinner, a winemaker dinner or a long lunch in a vineyard.
Yes. Hikes, rides and long meals make it easy to step away from screens. We can build in phone-free time on the trails and at the table while keeping meeting rooms connected for the sessions that need it.
Bring layers, comfortable walking shoes, a light jacket for evenings and smart casual clothes for dinners. Churches ask that shoulders and knees be covered. U.S. travelers need a passport valid for at least three months after departure, and we send every team a packing list before the trip.
Wilder handles every logistical detail, saving internal teams an average of 100+ planning hours. We build each itinerary around your business goals, so the sessions, activities and downtime all support what you want your team to leave with.
