Why choose Barcelona for a corporate retreat?
Barcelona gives teams a world city, a beach and real mountains in one trip. Groups can meet near Montjuïc, sail the Mediterranean in the afternoon and share a late dinner in the Gothic Quarter. An hour inland, the jagged peaks of Montserrat and the vineyards of the Penedès offer a slower pace. The airport is 20 minutes from the city center with nonstop flights from major U.S. cities, and April through June and September through October bring the most comfortable weather.

In their words
Why teams keep booking with Wilder

As a remote team, it's important for us to create an intentional space for us to come together and connect as more than co-workers. We believe there's no better way to do that than in nature and Wilder Retreats helped us do just that.
Chris ClarkCEO
We've worked with Wilder Retreats on over three retreats now and it's been the best experience ever. They have great locations in their pocket, work closely with you on budget and details, and are always a step ahead with planning. I don't know how we'd execute on our team offsites without them!
Britt CooperVP of Talent
Our time with Wilder Retreats in Yosemite was nothing short of magical. We explored, we laughed, and we grew together. It was a humbling reminder of the beauty and power of nature, and of the importance of fostering connections with those around us.
Lily BakourHead of Communications
Wilder Retreats ran our firmwide offsite this year. It was clear we had a true partner in Wilder. From the earliest planning chats through the final goodbye for the airport, our Wilder Retreats team was responsive, organized, and upbeat, so much so that our own staff who worked with them to plan could simply enjoy the retreat instead of juggling logistics. The result was a relaxed, engaging few days where people could focus on connecting with colleagues and re‑energizing for the year ahead. We came away feeling both cared for and confident that we’d choose Wilder Retreats again without hesitation!
Emma DysonChief of Staff
Wilder Retreats presented, organized and executed a company retreat in Big Sky for us. The details were communicated in a timely manner both prior to the event and during. Our group had an amazing time! I would highly recommend Wilder Retreats.

Frequently asked questions
Barcelona combines a world-class city with the sea and the mountains, all within an hour. Teams can meet in the morning, sail or hike in the afternoon and share a long dinner at night, in a city known for its food, design and walkable neighborhoods.
It depends on your group. InterContinental Barcelona on Montjuïc has 273 rooms and 21 meeting rooms, the right fit for groups of 100 or more. Cotton House is an 83-room boutique hotel in a 19th-century landmark in the Eixample, ideal for leadership teams that want to walk the city. Hotel Món Sant Benet has 87 rooms beside a restored monastery near Montserrat, a strong choice for teams that want the countryside. Many groups split the stay between the city and Montserrat.
April through June and September through October bring warm days, cooler evenings and calmer crowds. July and August are hot and busy, and many local businesses close for part of August. Winter is mild and quiet, which works well for meeting-focused groups.
Most groups fly into Barcelona El Prat (BCN), which has nonstop flights from major U.S. cities. The InterContinental is about 20 minutes from the airport, Cotton House about 25 minutes, and Món Sant Benet about an hour by road. We arrange private transfers for the whole group.
Yes. InterContinental Barcelona has 273 rooms, about 3,000 square meters of event space and the Verdi Ballroom, the largest in central Barcelona, with space for up to 800 guests. Món Sant Benet adds 14 meeting rooms for groups that want to be outside the city.
Cava is Spain’s traditional sparkling wine, made in the same method as Champagne. Most of it comes from the Penedès, about 45 minutes from Barcelona, where teams can tour historic cellars and blend a cuvée of their own.
Beyond the featured experiences, teams can build a human tower with a castellers club, shop La Boqueria with a chef, kayak the Costa Brava, take a tapas crawl through El Born or explore the medieval villages of the Empordà.
We can plan a La Boqueria market tour and cooking class, a tapas crawl through El Born, a cava tasting in the Penedès, a private dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant or a long lunch in a Catalan masia.
Yes. Time on the water, hikes at Montserrat and long meals make it easy to step away from screens. We can build in phone-free time while keeping meeting rooms connected for the sessions that need it.
Bring comfortable walking shoes, layers for cool evenings, swimwear, sunscreen and smart casual clothes for dinner. Pack hiking shoes for Montserrat. U.S. travelers need a passport valid for at least three months after departure, and we send every team a packing list before the trip.
Wilder handles every logistical detail, saving internal teams an average of 100+ planning hours. We build each itinerary around your business goals, so the sessions, activities and downtime all support what you want your team to leave with.
