Discover Oʻahu

Why Oʻahu works for corporate retreats

Oʻahu gives teams the best of Hawaii without the logistics. Honolulu has nonstop flights from across the US and Asia, there’s no island hopping, and within an hour you can reach world-class resorts, quiet beaches, the wild North Shore and green mountain valleys. It’s warm all year, with highs around 80°F even in winter, and Hawaiian culture is close at hand, from outrigger canoes to hula, chant and shared feasts. It works for a leadership offsite of 15, a company retreat of 150, or a board meeting followed by two days together.

As a remote team, it's important for us to create an intentional space for us to come together and connect as more than co-workers. We believe there's no better way to do that than in nature and Wilder Retreats helped us do just that.

We've worked with Wilder Retreats on over three retreats now and it's been the best experience ever. They have great locations in their pocket, work closely with you on budget and details, and are always a step ahead with planning. I don't know how we'd execute on our team offsites without them!

Wilder Retreats ran our firmwide offsite this year. It was clear we had a true partner in Wilder. From the earliest planning chats through the final goodbye for the airport, our Wilder Retreats team was responsive, organized, and upbeat, so much so that our own staff who worked with them to plan could simply enjoy the retreat instead of juggling logistics. The result was a relaxed, engaging few days where people could focus on connecting with colleagues and re‑energizing for the year ahead. We came away feeling both cared for and confident that we’d choose Wilder Retreats again without hesitation!

Oʻahu CORPORATE RETREAT

Frequently asked questions

What makes Oʻahu a good fit for a corporate retreat?

Oʻahu gives teams the best of Hawaii without the logistics. Everyone flies into Honolulu, there’s no island hopping, and world-class resorts, quiet beaches, green mountain valleys and meaningful cultural experiences are all within about an hour. It works for a leadership offsite of 15 or a company retreat of 150.

Should we stay at Four Seasons Ko Olina, The Kahala, Halekulani or Turtle Bay?

Four Seasons Resort Oʻahu at Ko Olina is a complete resort on the quiet west coast, with an oceanfront lawn for private dinners. The Kahala sits on a private beachfront below Diamond Head, minutes from Waikīkī and the airport, and is a favorite for board meetings. Halekulani puts your team in the heart of Waikīkī, known for its service and food. The Ritz-Carlton Oʻahu, Turtle Bay suits teams who want space, with the North Shore coastline, golf and beach cottages.

What is the best time of year for a retreat on Oʻahu?

Oʻahu is great year-round, with highs around 80°F even in winter. December to April brings humpback whales and cooler evenings. Spring and fall are quieter, and rates are often lower. Book holiday periods and the weeks around them early.

How do we get to Oʻahu?

Fly into Honolulu (HNL), which has nonstop flights from across the US and Asia. Ko Olina, Kahala and Waikīkī are a short drive from the airport, and the North Shore is about an hour away. We handle airport greetings and transfers for the whole group.

Do we need to fly to another island?

No. Everything here is on Oʻahu, so your team flies into Honolulu and stays put.

How far in advance should we book?

Three to six months is ideal. We’ve planned Oʻahu retreats in as little as six weeks, depending on availability.

Can Oʻahu host groups of more than 100 people?

Yes. Four Seasons Ko Olina and Turtle Bay can host groups of 100 or more on site, and larger groups can spread across nearby resorts with shared sessions and dinners. Experiences like the catamaran sail and Secret Island day can run on multiple boats or in rotations.

What other experiences can Wilder organize on Oʻahu?

Beyond the four above, we can arrange sunrise yoga, a Diamond Head sunrise hike, surf lessons, golf, snorkeling and a traditional lūʻau.

Can you handle dietary needs?

Yes. Every menu is built around your team, including vegetarian and allergy-friendly options, and we can bring in guest chefs.

Is Oʻahu good for international teams?

Yes. Honolulu has direct flights from many US and Asian cities, and it’s in the US, which can simplify travel for teams who already hold US visas.

What ROI can companies expect from a Wilder retreat on Oʻahu?

Wilder handles every logistical detail, saving internal teams an average of 100+ planning hours. We build each itinerary around your business goals, so the sessions, activities and downtime all support what you want your team to leave with.
