As a remote team, it's important for us to create an intentional space for us to come together and connect as more than co-workers. We believe there's no better way to do that than in nature and Wilder Retreats helped us do just that.

We've worked with Wilder Retreats on over three retreats now and it's been the best experience ever. They have great locations in their pocket, work closely with you on budget and details, and are always a step ahead with planning. I don't know how we'd execute on our team offsites without them!

Wilder Retreats ran our firmwide offsite this year. It was clear we had a true partner in Wilder. From the earliest planning chats through the final goodbye for the airport, our Wilder Retreats team was responsive, organized, and upbeat, so much so that our own staff who worked with them to plan could simply enjoy the retreat instead of juggling logistics. The result was a relaxed, engaging few days where people could focus on connecting with colleagues and re‑energizing for the year ahead. We came away feeling both cared for and confident that we’d choose Wilder Retreats again without hesitation!

Wilder Retreats presented, organized and executed a company retreat in Big Sky for us. The details were communicated in a timely manner both prior to the event and during. Our group had an amazing time! I would highly recommend Wilder Retreats.

GOT QUESTIONS? WE’VE GOT ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

What makes Napa Valley a good fit for a corporate retreat?

Napa Valley combines world-class food and wine, resorts built for small groups and easy access from three Bay Area airports. Teams can meet in the morning and spend afternoons in the vineyards, all within a 30-mile valley.

Should we stay at Solage, Meadowood or Carneros?

It depends on your group and goals. Solage has 100 studios and suites in Calistoga at the quiet north end of the valley, with more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space and a spa known for its mud baths. Meadowood is a wooded 250-acre estate in St. Helena with 36 rooms, best as a buyout for about 35 people. Carneros Resort and Spa has 100 cottages and homes among the vineyards in south Napa, with more than 38,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space and the shortest drive from San Francisco. We’ll recommend the best fit for your group size, goals and budget.

What is the best time of year for a retreat in Napa Valley?

Spring and fall are ideal. March through May brings green hills and mustard in bloom, and harvest season from August through October is the most festive time in the valley. Summer is warm and dry, and winter offers quieter tastings and better rates.

How do we get to Napa Valley?

Fly into San Francisco (SFO) or Oakland (OAK), about an hour to an hour and a half away, or Santa Rosa (STS), about 30 minutes from Calistoga with nonstop flights from several West Coast cities. We arrange all ground transfers.

Can we combine Napa Valley with other destinations?

Yes. Many groups add a night in San Francisco, and Sonoma is a short drive west for more wineries, the coast and redwood forests.

What other experiences can Wilder organize in Napa Valley?

Beyond the experiences above, we can arrange a ride on the Napa Valley Wine Train, a blending session where teams make their own wine, olive oil tastings, cave tours, mud baths in Calistoga and guided hikes in the Mayacamas Mountains.

Can Napa Valley host groups of more than 100 people?

Yes. Carneros Resort and Spa can host events for up to 500 people, and we can split larger groups across nearby resorts and bring everyone together for sessions and dinners.

Can we hold meetings outdoors?

Yes. Napa is dry and sunny much of the year, and lawns, terraces and vineyard settings at all three resorts work well for sessions and dinners.

Are activities suitable for all fitness levels?

Yes. The cave dinner, winery tours, cooking classes and balloon rides need no experience, and e-bikes do most of the work on the vineyard ride. There is always an easier option.

What should we pack for a Napa Valley retreat?

Layers for cool mornings and warm afternoons, comfortable walking shoes for vineyards and caves, sunglasses and one smart-casual outfit for dinners.

How much does a Napa Valley corporate retreat cost?

Our retreats average $750 to $1,500 per person per day, depending on the venue, season and experiences. Napa sits at the higher end, especially during harvest. See the sample budgets above, and we’ll build a detailed estimate for your group.
