Why choose Palm Springs and Joshua Tree for a corporate retreat?

Palm Springs sits at the foot of the San Jacinto Mountains in the Coachella Valley, with more than 300 sunny days a year and Joshua Tree National Park about an hour away. Teams can walk downtown to dinner, ride the Aerial Tramway up to pine forest at 8,500 feet and spend a day among the granite boulders and Joshua trees of the high desert. Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) is about 10 minutes from most hotels, and Los Angeles is about 2 hours by car.

As a remote team, it's important for us to create an intentional space for us to come together and connect as more than co-workers. We believe there's no better way to do that than in nature and Wilder Retreats helped us do just that.

We've worked with Wilder Retreats on over three retreats now and it's been the best experience ever. They have great locations in their pocket, work closely with you on budget and details, and are always a step ahead with planning. I don't know how we'd execute on our team offsites without them!

Wilder Retreats ran our firmwide offsite this year. It was clear we had a true partner in Wilder. From the earliest planning chats through the final goodbye for the airport, our Wilder Retreats team was responsive, organized, and upbeat, so much so that our own staff who worked with them to plan could simply enjoy the retreat instead of juggling logistics. The result was a relaxed, engaging few days where people could focus on connecting with colleagues and re‑energizing for the year ahead. We came away feeling both cared for and confident that we’d choose Wilder Retreats again without hesitation!

PALM SPRINGS & JOSHUA TREE CORPORATE RETREAT

Frequently asked questions

What makes Palm Springs and Joshua Tree a good fit for a corporate retreat?

Palm Springs is easy to reach, reliably sunny and compact enough that teams can walk to dinner, and Joshua Tree National Park adds some of the most striking desert scenery in the country an hour away. Canyons, mountain trails and a strong food scene are all close by, and the midcentury style gives the whole trip a relaxed, distinctive feel.

Should we stay at Thompson, Parker or Kimpton Rowan?

It depends on your group. Thompson Palm Springs has 168 rooms downtown and about 8,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 6,200-square-foot ballroom. Parker Palm Springs has 144 rooms on 13 acres of gardens with lawns and courtyards for outdoor sessions, a good fit for teams that want a resort feel or a full buyout. Kimpton Rowan has 153 rooms, about 6,000 square feet of meeting space and a rooftop pool with mountain views, a strong value option in the center of town. We’ll recommend the best fit for your group size, goals and budget.

What is the best time of year for a retreat in Palm Springs?

October through May is the best season, with warm, dry days and cool evenings. February and March are the busiest months. Summer highs often pass 105 degrees, so outdoor plans shift to early mornings and evenings, but rates drop sharply.

How do we get to Palm Springs?

Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) is about 10 minutes from downtown and has direct flights from many U.S. cities in season. Los Angeles (LAX) is about 2 to 2.5 hours by car, and Ontario (ONT) is about an hour. Wilder coordinates group transfers from any of these airports.

What other experiences can Wilder organize in Palm Springs?

Beyond the featured experiences, teams can hike Indian Canyons, take a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park, play golf, ride e-bikes through the historic neighborhoods or spend an afternoon at a spa. Wilder builds the itinerary around your team’s interests and goals.

Can we visit Joshua Tree on a Palm Springs retreat?

Yes. Joshua Tree National Park is about an hour from Palm Springs, and we can plan a guided hike, a stargazing night or a half-day tour in the park.

Can Palm Springs host groups of more than 100 people?

Yes. Thompson, Parker and Kimpton Rowan can each host groups of about 100, and larger teams can split lodging across nearby hotels while meeting together. We’ll plan the room blocks and transfers so it feels like one retreat.

Can we hold meetings outdoors?

Yes. We use lawns, courtyards and rooftop terraces for sessions when the weather allows, and time outside tends to spark better conversations than a windowless ballroom.

Are activities suitable for all fitness levels?

Yes. The tramway, design tours and Jeep tours need no hiking, and trails range from flat canyon walks to steeper climbs. We plan every day so the whole team can join in.

What should we pack for a Palm Springs retreat?

Bring light layers, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses, plus a warm layer for the top of the tramway, where it can be 30 degrees cooler than the desert floor. We send every team a packing list before the trip.

What ROI can companies expect from a Wilder retreat in Palm Springs and Joshua Tree?

Wilder handles every logistical detail, saving internal teams an average of 100+ planning hours. We build each itinerary around your business goals, so the sessions, activities and downtime all support what you want your team to leave with.
