Why choose Vermont for a corporate retreat

Vermont gives teams room to slow down. Classic inns sit on village greens, ski resorts open onto mountain trails, and every season has its own draw, from summer hikes to peak foliage to snow. Manchester, Stowe and Woodstock each offer a different feel, and each is a short flight into Albany, Burlington or Lebanon, New Hampshire, or an easy drive from Boston and New York.

Why teams keep booking with Wilder

As a remote team, it's important for us to create an intentional space for us to come together and connect as more than co-workers. We believe there's no better way to do that than in nature and Wilder Retreats helped us do just that.

We've worked with Wilder Retreats on over three retreats now and it's been the best experience ever. They have great locations in their pocket, work closely with you on budget and details, and are always a step ahead with planning. I don't know how we'd execute on our team offsites without them!

Wilder Retreats ran our firmwide offsite this year. It was clear we had a true partner in Wilder. From the earliest planning chats through the final goodbye for the airport, our Wilder Retreats team was responsive, organized, and upbeat, so much so that our own staff who worked with them to plan could simply enjoy the retreat instead of juggling logistics. The result was a relaxed, engaging few days where people could focus on connecting with colleagues and re‑energizing for the year ahead. We came away feeling both cared for and confident that we’d choose Wilder Retreats again without hesitation!

Vermont retreat questions

Frequently asked questions

What makes Vermont a good fit for a corporate retreat?

Vermont feels far from the office without long travel. Teams can meet in a historic inn or a mountain lodge, spend afternoons on trails, golf courses or ski slopes, and end the day around a fire. Each season offers something different, so it works year-round.

Should we stay at The Equinox, The Lodge at Spruce Peak or Woodstock Inn?

It depends on your group and season. The Equinox has 185 rooms on 1,300 acres in Manchester Village with golf, a spa, falconry and Land Rover driving on site. The Lodge at Spruce Peak has 275 rooms at the base of Stowe Mountain Resort and about 50,000 square feet of meeting space, the best fit for larger groups and winter retreats. Woodstock Inn has 142 rooms on the village green, with an 18-hole golf course and a classic New England feel. We’ll recommend the best fit for your group size, goals and budget.

What is the best time of year for a retreat in Vermont?

Late September through mid-October is peak foliage and the most popular time. June through August brings warm days for hiking and golf. December through March is ski season, especially in Stowe. Spring mud season in April is the quietest.

How do we get to Vermont?

Each venue has its own closest airport. For The Equinox in Manchester, fly into Albany (ALB), about 1 hour 15 minutes away. For The Lodge at Spruce Peak in Stowe, fly into Burlington (BTV), about 45 minutes away. For Woodstock Inn, fly into Lebanon, New Hampshire (LEB), about 25 minutes away, or Manchester, New Hampshire (MHT), about 1 hour 30 minutes away. Private flights can land at Morrisville-Stowe (MVL) or Bennington (DDH). Many teams from Boston and New York drive, and we handle all ground transfers.

Can we combine more than one part of Vermont?

Yes. Manchester and Woodstock are about 90 minutes apart and Stowe is about two hours from each, so some groups split a retreat between two venues or add a day trip.

What other experiences can Wilder organize in Vermont?

Beyond the featured experiences, teams can fly-fish the Battenkill River, hike in the Green Mountain National Forest, visit a maple sugarhouse or cheesemaker, ride the Stowe gondola, or go snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in winter.

Can Vermont host groups of more than 100 people?

Yes. The Lodge at Spruce Peak can host several hundred people, with a ballroom of nearly 6,000 square feet. The Equinox and Woodstock Inn can each seat about 275 for a general session.

Can we hold meetings outdoors?

Yes. We use lawns, terraces and barns for sessions and breakouts from late spring through fall, with an indoor room held as a backup.

Are activities suitable for all fitness levels?

Yes. The craft tasting, falconry and estate tour need no experience, and Land Rover instructors coach every driver. Hikes are guided and paced for the group, with shorter options available.

What should we pack for a Vermont retreat?

Bring layers, since mountain weather changes quickly, plus comfortable walking shoes and a rain jacket. In fall add a warm jacket for evenings, and in winter bring a heavy coat, hat, gloves and boots.

How much does a Vermont corporate retreat cost?

Most retreats run $750 to $1,500 per person per day on average, depending on the venue, season, group size and experiences. The sample pricing above shows what three nights could cost at each venue, and we’ll build a custom proposal for your team.
